LONDON, UK – Tuesday 3rd March 2026 - Kaluza, the energy technology platform powering the transition to clean energy, today announced that founder Stephen Fitzpatrick has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Fitzpatrick takes over from Mel Gander, who spent sixteen years in multiple leadership roles at Kaluza and its parent company OVO Energy before serving as CEO for the past two years. Under Gander's tenure as CEO, Kaluza expanded from a single-customer subsidiary into an independent platform serving four major clients across eight markets, including AGL and ENGIE, tripling its contracted recurring revenue in the process.

Fitzpatrick returns at a moment he describes as the most significant shift in software development in a generation. The rapid advancement of AI-enabled engineering tools is fundamentally changing how technology companies build and ship products, and Fitzpatrick believes the businesses that move fastest in the next twelve months will establish advantages that are very hard to close.

"AI is reshaping how every industry operates, but software is changing faster than anywhere else," said Fitzpatrick. "The gap between teams that embrace these tools and those that don't is opening up right now, and it will be very difficult to close later."

"Kaluza builds mission-critical enterprise software at the heart of how energy networks operate. That is exactly the kind of company that should be taking advantage of these new tools, delivering accelerated development for our customers without compromising on security, resilience and quality. For us, where the speed at which we build and deliver directly maps to the pace of the energy transition, this is an extraordinary opportunity. We intend to take it."

As CEO, Fitzpatrick will prioritise delivery execution, embedding AI capability across Kaluza's engineering teams, and simplifying operations to increase speed.
